APSET 2018 Exam Notification Released for Lecturership in Andhra Pradesh

APSET 2018 (Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test) notification just released a few hours back (18th March 2018). The test is scheduled to conduct on 1st July 2018. The online registration for APSET 2018 will begin on 26th March 2018.

If the candidates are looking for this APSET 2018 for the recruitment of Lecturers / Assistant Professors in degree colleges of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The online application port will be active on 26th March 2018. Apply online before 2nd May 2018 to avoid a late fee.


·         Candidates who secured 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examinations from any UGC recognized university/institute for this test.
·         The Backward Classes/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ persons with disability(PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

Examination Centers:

The examination is conducted in 6 regional centres namely,
  • Visakhapatnam 
  • Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry)  
  • Guntur 
  • Nellore 
  • Ananthapur and 
  • Thirupati.

Application Fee:

  • General Category – Rs 1000
  • BC – Rs 800
  • SC/ST/PH/VH – Rs 500

Examination Pattern:

Number of Question

1 hour (9:30 am to 10:30 am)
2 Hours (11:00 AM to 1:00 PM)

Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Paper-I shall consist of 50 objective type questions. Each question will carry 2 marks.

Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.

The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper – I and Paper - II on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Sheet provided along with the test booklet.

There is no negative marking.

Syllabus for APSET 2018:

The APSET 2018 is organized in 31 subjects with two papers I & II. Candidates looking forward to applying for APSET 2018 for promotion as well as recruitment as Lectures/Assistant Professors in Degree Colleges of the state of Andhra Pradesh must keep a tab on the official website and apply online on or before 2nd May 2018 to avoid a late fee.

The syllabus prescribed by UGC-CSIR and UGC-NET for paper-I and Paper-II without negative marks be adopted for APSET. The Paper II & III are merged to become Paper-II.

While Paper-I will be bilingual for all candidates, Paper-II will be mainly set in English for most of the subjects, except for Commerce, Economics, Education, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, and Social work (English and Telugu).
